HRH Princess Alexandra opened the new Refectory in July 2001. The Catering team enjoy welcoming pilgrims to this new and exciting eating place. Pilgrims staying in our accommodation can choose between bed & breakfast, half-board or full board rates and all will enjoy the wonderful new surroundings.

The Refectory offers a wide choice of meals - special diets are catered for. Packed meals can also be provided with advanced notice.

It is helpful if you inform us of any special dietary requirements prior to your stay.

Breakfast is served from 8.00 am
Lunch from 12.30 pm
Supper from 6.30 pm.

THE NORTON CAFE BAR

The Norton Café Bar (pictured above) is a very popular spot; all visitors - pilgrims, tourists or passers-by are welcomed. The Norton Café Bar is normally open throughout the day between Easter and October (from 10 am until 11 pm each week day (and Sundays if 50+ pilgrims are in residence); in the winter months opening hours depend on the number of pilgrims in residence.

A wide selection of specialist coffees, teas, homemade cakes and sandwiches are available. There is a light meals menu which is available between 1130 and 1400. The Norton Café Bar is fully licensed and a wide range of wines, beers (bottled and a local draught) and spirits are on sale. For those pilgrims eating in the main dining room, glasses or bottles of wine or beer can be brought to your table.

With doors opening on to a garden terrace, the Norton Café Bar provides both indoor and outdoor seating.

Just for the Day?

Day pilgrims can also eat at the Refectory - either in the main dining room (advance notice required) or in the Norton Café Bar.  If requiring to eat in the main dining room please book well in advance - tel. 01328 820523 or e-mail refec@olw-shrine.org.uk
