This year’s
event was bigger than ever! Around 900 gathered for some of
the most up lifting, exciting and challenging worship ever
in the huge big top on site. As usual young people came from
all over Britain.
CJM
Music once again stole the show with their amazing songs,
dance and energy. More young people than ever took part in
their Wednesday dance and song workshops which resulted in
some fantastic input live on stage in our Thursday morning
Mass.
Highlights…….well there were too many to mention!
New
Dawn meets Megabite!
Ever popular
was the traditional evening candle lit Holy Mile walk. This
year it was extra special as it was preceded at the Roman
Catholic National Shrine with the biggest ecumenical
gathering of young people ever witnessed in Walsingham.
Youngsters from the New Dawn Conference gathered in the
grounds with us for an amazing half hour of singing, mime,
teaching and in put from Fr Stan Fortuna (one time rockstar
in the Bronx USA, now monk and gifted preacher/singer.
Where it all
happens!
As an event
many young people say the youth pilgrimage has it all. Our
own Olympic games, five aside football, art and craft, break
dancing, DJ’ing, street dance, drumming, karaoke, disco, BBQ
it all happened during the week!
Non stop
prayer!
This
year we pulled out all the stops as young people signed up
for an all night prayer vigil in the big top before the
blessed sacrament. Just before midnight on Wednesday the
sacrament was revealed on top of a giant floodlit ziggurat.
An amazing sight. Hundreds of candles were lit as young
people offered their prayers throughout the night.
DATES NEXT

Reflections on the
2005 Youth Pilgrimage |

Michael,
16 writes....'If you have ever attended the pilgrimage,
you'll know it's the most thought provoking, engrossing
and fun events you'll ever attend. The Walsingham
atmosphere is addictive and if you let it enter
your
system it delivers an unparalleled (and legal!) high!'
'Music and worship was outstanding and I prayed long and
hard along with others. I feel like a stronger Christian
since that night' I think as children of God through
Jesus we are beautiful' The worship is the
centre of the event.....Each day the Youth Mass
offered enriching and challenging interpretations of the
Gospel through dance, music, computer graphics and
creative prayer opportunities.
